Reporting to the Global Head of Accounting you will lead the consolidated Asia Technical Accounting. You will coordinate the Regional Finance team and provide reporting to Asia leadership and to Global Corporate Finance.

Key Responsibilities:-

Accounting Leadership:

  • Oversee and lead APAC regional and local country accounting operations, making decisions aligned with US GAAP and company policies and controls
  • Serve as a regional business partner and liaison with Global and Corporate accounting teams and Regional FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and Legal teams
  • Lead APAC team in various improvement projects, including globalization and standardization of processes and acceleration of monthly closes in collaboration with the global team
  • Escalate to management and help to solution and resolve any accounting concerns or unusual transactions
  • Review key journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy and develop corrective action plans as needed to ensure accounts are in good standing
  • Effectively manage and develop the APAC accounting staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment that is both challenging and engaging

Reporting:

  • Manage and support local statutory audits and reporting processes in the APAC region, ensuring that all filings are made on time and with accuracy
  • Support global and corporate audits as needed, coordinating with external auditors to ensure that all schedules are provided in a timely manner, assist with questions, and coordinate closely with the in-country teams
  • Perform analysis of various financial analytics of subsidiaries and regional consolidated financial statements to ensure accuracy, US GAAP compliance and adherence to the Company's policies

Controls:

  • Maintain and ensure compliance to documented policies and procedures and adherence to US GAAP
  • Ensure SOX compliance of key controls for financial processes
  • Evaluate and modify processes and internal controls as necessary

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with regional peers and cross-functionally within the Company
  • Partner with global teams to standardize, optimize, and align
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and implement changes to optimize business processes and system performance

Key requirements

  • CPA/CA/CIMA/ACCA Qualification
  • Extension APAC experience within Technical Accounting/US GAAP
  • Prior experience using SAP
  • Prior experience of internal controls and SOX
  • Ideally prior working experience within a consumer focussed organisation
