Associate Director / Director, Corporate Communications & Strategic Affairs

Overview

We are seeking an experienced communications leader to drive corporate reputation, strategic communications, and media engagement across Asia and Europe. This regional leadership role will be responsible for shaping the organization's external narrative, strengthening stakeholder trust, and advising senior executives on high-impact communications, reputation management, and complex cross-border issues.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, leading strategic communications initiatives that support business growth, market expansion, policy engagement, and corporate positioning across multiple international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Corporate Reputation

  • Develop and execute regional corporate communications strategies that strengthen brand reputation and stakeholder confidence across Asia and Europe.
  • Shape and manage the organization's corporate narrative, ensuring consistency across markets, business units, and leadership teams.
  • Partner closely with country leaders, functional stakeholders, and executive leadership to align communications with business priorities and corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior executives on communications, reputation, and stakeholder engagement matters.

Media Relations & Executive Positioning

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with leading business, technology, infrastructure, and industry media across key markets.
  • Lead the development of press releases, media statements, executive communications, and proactive media engagement strategies.
  • Position senior leaders as industry thought leaders through interviews, speaking opportunities, opinion pieces, and executive profiling initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage external PR agencies, ensuring alignment with regional and global communications objectives.

Issues Management & Crisis Communications

  • Lead crisis preparedness and response strategies, including the development of crisis communication frameworks, playbooks, and escalation protocols.
  • Provide strategic guidance during sensitive or high-profile situations involving media, regulatory, operational, or reputational risks.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop messaging and stakeholder communications during critical events.

Narrative Development & Strategic Messaging

  • Develop executive speeches, keynote presentations, thought leadership content, opinion articles, and strategic messaging materials.
  • Create communication frameworks supporting market expansion, strategic partnerships, major corporate announcements, sustainability initiatives, and organizational milestones.
  • Translate complex technical, regulatory, policy, and industry developments into clear and compelling narratives for external stakeholders.
  • Support public affairs and policy-related communications where relevant.

Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Insights

  • Lead regional media monitoring, sentiment analysis, and reputation tracking across multiple markets.
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights on emerging issues, stakeholder perceptions, policy developments, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen corporate positioning and proactively manage reputational risks.

Requirements

Experience & Background

  • 10–15+ years of experience in corporate communications, strategic communications, public relations, corporate affairs, or related disciplines.
  • Experience within complex, highly regulated, or infrastructure-intensive industries such as:
    • Technology
    • Data Centers
    • Cloud & Digital Infrastructure
    • Telecommunications
    • Energy
    • Industrial Infrastructure
    • Professional Services
    • Other multinational and regulated sectors
  • Demonstrated success managing communications across multiple countries and cultures within a regional or global organization.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong track record in international media relations and executive communications.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editorial capabilities for senior leadership audiences.
  • Proven experience leading crisis communications and managing high-stakes reputational issues.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to simplify complex technical, commercial, and regulatory topics.
  • Experience engaging with policy, regulatory, government, or public affairs stakeholders is highly advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and advise senior executives.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and geographically dispersed environment.
