Singapore | Aviation and airport operations | Reports to Managing Director
Most planning roles hand you a template and ask you to fill it in. This one asks you to decide what should be measured in the first place, then prove whether the business is winning or not.
Our client is one of the world's largest air services groups, running ground handling, cargo and aviation support operations across 30 plus countries. Their Singapore station is one of the busiest in the network. They are strengthening the Support Office and hiring a Business Planning & Performance Manager to sit at the centre of it.
THE SEAT
You report directly into the Managing Director for Airport Operations. You own the business planning cycle, the performance framework that sits underneath it, and the analysis that tells leadership what is actually happening in the operation.
WHAT THE JOB REALLY INVOLVES
- Building the business plan with senior leadership, then turning it into targets people can be held to
- Designing and running the KPI framework, and keeping the reporting honest when the numbers are unflattering
- Turning operational and financial data into recommendations, not dashboards
- Working directly with operations teams to find efficiency and cost improvement that is real rather than theoretical
- Partnering across finance, operations, HR and commercial so the plan gets executed
- Watching the market, the competition and the risk picture, and bringing that into the planning conversation
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Around 5 years or more in business planning, performance management or strategic planning
- Degree qualified
- Genuinely strong with data. Advanced Excel is assumed, Power BI is a real advantage
- Able to stand in front of senior leadership, present a finding and defend it
- Bias towards operational improvement rather than reporting for its own sake
- Aviation, logistics, transport or another asset heavy operational industry is a plus, not a must
WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT
The reporting line is the decision maker. The scope covers strategy, performance and operational improvement in one seat, which is unusual at this level. And in an operation this visible, a good plan shows up in the numbers inside a quarter.
