Data Management Lead / FS / $100k P/M / 6 Month Contract
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Management Lead
to support the delivery of a regional data strategy across Corporate & Institutional Banking. This role focuses on data storage, retention, and governance, working closely with global stakeholders to ensure policy alignment, regulatory compliance, and effective implementation of data controls.
This is a high-impact position suited to someone with a strong foundation in data management practices, combined with the ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and engage both technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the regional Data Management Lead in executing data strategy initiatives
- Coordinate delivery of data storage and retention requirements
across Asia and the Middle East
- Ensure alignment with global data policies and drive consistent implementation
- Provide subject matter expertise on data lifecycle management and retention controls
- Contribute to the development of a data storage operating model and governance framework
- Promote strong data accountability, ethical data practices, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with global teams to enhance processes and support ongoing improvements
Key Requirements
- Solid experience in data management, data storage, or data governance
- Understanding of data lifecycle concepts, including:
- Legal hold
- eDiscovery
- Data classification
- Defensible disposal
- Audit and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as:
- Microsoft 365 / SharePoint
- Enterprise content management systems
- Backup, archive, and object storage solutions
- Knowledge of storage principles (e.g., archiving, tiering, immutability/WORM)
- Experience supporting cross-functional programmes or project delivery
- Strong stakeholder management, governance, and presentation skills
- Awareness of regulatory environments, ideally within financial services or another data-driven industry
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting and working with data
Preferred (Not Essential)
- Experience within financial services
- Exposure to data analytics or reporting
- Cantonese and/or Mandarin language skills
