Deputy Managing Director – Chemical Industry

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Managing Director for your client to support the Managing Director in leading overall business strategy, commercial growth, and operational excellence. This role is the MD’s right hand, overseeing Sales, Marketing, and Business Development, while strengthening key partnerships across the chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the MD in strategic planning, business direction, and major decision-making.
• Lead and manage Sales & Marketing teams to drive revenue, market growth, and customer success.
• Build new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and expand market presence.
• Oversee key account management, pricing strategy, product positioning, and channel development.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and cross-functional operations.
• Strengthen relationships with key customers, suppliers, government bodies, and industry associations.
• Act as Acting MD when required and ensure smooth day-to-day business execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Industry, or a related field - top university background preferred.
• Over 15 years in the chemical industry with strong commercial or general management experience.
• Proven leadership of Sales/Marketing teams and track record of driving business growth.
• Deep understanding of chemical products, industrial applications, and market dynamics.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
• Must have strong industry connections with manufacturers, distributors, and industrial customers.
