Company / Role Overview

This role sits within a large-scale finance transformation programme at a leading global financial services organisation, focused on modernising investment management capabilities across data, reporting, and governance. The Investment Management Operating Model Lead is responsible for designing and implementing a scalable target operating model that underpins new investment data and performance capabilities, ensuring clarity of ownership, robust governance, and sustainable operations across group and regional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a target operating model to support new investment data and performance management capabilities across the organisation.
  • Define end-to-end operating processes spanning data sourcing, validation, enrichment, distribution, and performance reporting.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and handoffs across central teams, regional entities, and third-party service providers.
  • Embed governance frameworks, controls, and escalation mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, accountability, and transparency.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across investment, finance, risk, and actuarial teams to validate and refine the operating model.
  • Oversee external consultancy support to develop operating model proposals for complex asset classes and prepare supporting business cases.
  • Drive business readiness activities, including communications, training, and transition planning to support adoption of the new operating model.

Job Requirements

Must Have

  • Strong background in investment management within an insurance or asset management environment.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in transformation, operating model design, or business change roles within financial services.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing target operating models, including governance and control frameworks.
  • Strong process design skills, with the ability to map and optimise end-to-end workflows.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior leaders across multiple functions.

Others

  • Experience working with outsourced service providers or shared services models.
  • Exposure to investment data management or performance reporting operating models.
  • Experience developing business cases for transformation initiatives.
