Java Technical Lead (FSI Environment)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Java Technical Lead to join our technology team within a leading global bank. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role will lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade, API-driven microservices using modern Java frameworks. You will play a pivotal role in advancing the bank’s digital transformation initiatives across global platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a Java engineering team to build scalable, API-driven microservices.
• Design and develop enterprise backend solutions using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Drive best practices in clean code, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across architecture, product, and DevOps teams.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and security in cloud environments(AWS/OpenShift).

Key Requirements:

• 8+ years of Java backend development experience, with leadership exposure.
• Expertise in Spring/Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience in cloud platforms(e.g., AWS, Azure, OpenShift).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, containerization, and CI/CD practices.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Preferred: Experience in banking or financial services.
