Our client is seeking an experienced Trademark or Intellectual Property professional to lead and manage a global IP portfolio across patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. This role sits at the intersection of innovation, legal strategy, and commercial impact, supporting the protection and commercialization of new technologies across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full intellectual property (IP) portfolio, including patents, trademarks, designs, and trade secrets across multiple jurisdictions
- Lead patent lifecycle activities, including drafting, filing, prosecution, and coordination with external counsel
- Identify and protect new inventions in collaboration with R&D and technical teams, including patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments
- Monitor competitor IP landscape and provide insights to support innovation and business strategy
- Oversee trademark and design registrations, including clearance, renewals, and enforcement
- Develop and maintain frameworks for protecting trade secrets and confidential information
- Establish and manage internal IP policies, processes, and documentation (e.g., NDAs, licensing agreements, IP ownership structures)
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on IP-related matters
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on IP strategy, commercialization, and risk management
- Support business activities such as partnerships, licensing, and due diligence from an IP perspective
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, legal, HR, and commercial teams to ensure proper IP governance and compliance across global operations
Key Requirements:
- Qualified patent attorney or lawyer with a focus on intellectual property
- 5+ years of experience in IP management, patent prosecution, or in-house IP roles
- Proven experience handling patents end-to-end (drafting, filing, prosecution)
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional IP portfolios (patents, trademarks, designs)
- Strong understanding of trade secrets, IP protection frameworks, and confidential information management
- Experience drafting and negotiating IP-related agreements (e.g., NDAs, licensing, assignments)
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to align IP strategy with business objectives
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Can be relocated to stay in Phuket
Nice to Have:
- In-house experience within manufacturing, technology, or innovation-driven environments
- Exposure to global IP frameworks and cross-border operations
- Background in technical fields (e.g., materials, textiles, medical devices, or advanced manufacturing)
