Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and clarify business and functional requirements.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, application designs, and solution proposals.

• Understand Java-based application development and provide technical guidance to development teams when required.

• Review technical solutions, application designs, and development approaches to ensure alignment with business requirements and architectural standards.

• Work closely with the development team based in Chengdu to facilitate technical discussions, clarify requirements, and support solution delivery.

• Provide technical oversight and coordination across application development, enhancement, and maintenance activities.

• Contribute to the design and review of application architecture and integration solutions.

• Support the ongoing enhancement and evolution of the core platform serving internal staff and insurance agents.

• Participate in cloud migration discussions and support the transition of applications from Microsoft Azure to Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud).

• Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to assess solution architecture, application dependencies, and migration considerations.

• Engage with business and IT stakeholders to ensure effective communication, requirement alignment, and successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Solid understanding of Java application development and enterprise software engineering concepts.

• Familiarity with Angular or other modern frontend technologies.

• Experience in application solution design, technical analysis, or software development environments.

• Ability to understand technical requirements, review solution designs, and communicate effectively with development teams.

• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and application architecture.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud), or other major cloud platforms.

• Experience in requirement gathering, functional analysis, and translating business needs into technical solutions.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

• Ability to coordinate with distributed development teams and support technical discussions across different locations.

• Proficiency in Cantonese and English; Mandarin is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly within retirement, pension, or financial services platforms.

• Background in banking, financial services, or multinational corporations (MNCs).

• Exposure to cloud migration projects, particularly from Microsoft Azure to Alibaba Cloud.

• Experience working with offshore or geographically distributed development teams.

• Familiarity with enterprise application architecture, system integration, and application modernisation.

• Experience supporting large-scale application enhancement or transformation programmes.
